Why get a part-time job

There are lots of good reasons to get a part-time job, whilst your studying at Abertay.  Other than the obvious cash injection, part-time work gives you valuable work experience and allows you to develop essential transferable skills, which in the long term will make you more employable.

Our Aims

The aim of the service is to help you to combine part-time work sensibly with academic study, therefore we do not advertise vacancies of more than 16 hours; as recommended by the National Union of Students.

Where to find JobShop

JobShop is located in the Career Development Centre on level 2 of the Kydd Building, next to student services reception.

Our services

We advertise vacancies on the JobShop pages of the Abertay website.  You will need to register to use this service.

We also have a vacancy notice board where you can find the latest vacancies; this can be found outside the Career Development Centre.

We run a drop in service: Friday 2-4pm, for any questions you have regarding part-time work. We can provide you with help and advice on filling in application forms, CV's for part-time work and can recommend other ways to search for jobs.

What we cannot do

JobShop is not a recruitment agency, we cannot find a job for you and we cannot put you forward for a job.  Remember to tackle the jobs market you need to learn to be pro-active!
