Causes of Stress

People can be can be stressed for many reasons, and there are fewer more stressful occasions for students than at exam time. The key to managing your stress levels is to identify that you are feeling stressed out, work out why, and deciding how to deal with it.

Although a certain amount of stress is natural and can help motivate you to do things that are necessary, stress levels can rise around exam time because you may be feeling anxious about the exams and assesments you have coming up, or maybe you are dealing with other issues and the extra pressure brought on by exams and assesments is a bit too much. Whatever the cause, there are plenty of ways to help relieve that stress.

Stress can be caused by a number of reasons...

-  Pressure on us to perform.

-  Expectations from ourselves and others.

-  Feeling that a lot of other things will depend on one exam/assesment, ie. career, further study etc.

-  Bad organising and setting ourselves unrealistic targets that is doing you more harm than good.
